After what seems like an age since I sold my car, and months of searching, we finally got a van! We are proud owners of a 2006 Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 CDTI SWB with 160k miles on it.
The van looks to have been a builders van but is in relatively good condition considering the age and mileage. The van was picked up from about 10 miles away and felt really good to drive with no obvious signs of clutch wear, bangs or rattles which was a pleasant surprise and we are really excited about it. We will be getting it booked in for a service and some new front tyres before we start doing any real work to it but the ideas are already flooding in.
Our short term plan is to make sure it is safe, clean and comfortable to drive. There are a few tatty bits in the cab such as broken vents, window winder handles and a rip in the seat but overall nothing too bad. The seatbelts and window winder mechanisms are a bit stiff/sticky so they will be stripped and cleaned down before too long. First though, the plan is to install a reverse camera so it is more manageable to navigate especially in the work multi-story car park and at the supermarket etc.
This first post is a bit short but we don’t have much for you at the moment, there will be more to come soon as the camera gets fitted and the service done.
